A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of Camarillo State Hospital Expressing the Appreciation of the Board for the services of Frank H. Garrett
This letter is a resolution of the Board of Trustees of Camarillo State Hospital expressing the appreciation for the services of Frank H. Garrett the superintendent and medical director of the hospital. The letter was written on April 23, 1963 by George Grimes (Chairman), a letter which expresses the service of Frank H. Garrett throughout the years, he served the State of California with distinction from 1927 until his retirement on April 1, 1963. Because of his services the Board of Trustees of the Hospital by this resolution desires to express its appreciation of the people of California for Dr. Garrett's devotion to the public and the medical field. During his 12 year service a huge achievement under his supervision, the Camarillo State Hospital was able to develop $40,000,000 daily admissions rated in the U.S. and his efforts in breaking through society's attitude toward care and treatment of mentally disturbed patients, being their advocate. He also established on the first children's unit for mentally ill children in the United States. Let it be known that thousands of persons during that time were able to lead a normal and useful lives as a result of the effectiveness of Garrett's work.
