Color engraving of the town of St. Goar (Sankt Goar) on the Rhine, with a view of the Rheinfels fortress ruins. According to the description for this plate, up to this point in the Rhine journey travelers could still purchase good Rhine wine, but further down the river (toward Bonn), the quality was not as good.
