Plate 13. View of Oberwesel and the Castle Schönburg
Color engraving with a view of the town of Oberwesel on the Rhine and the Schönburg Castle. Three years after Beethoven passed by the village of Oberwesel, it was occupied by French Revolutionary troops and in 1802 annexed by France. Only after the Congress of Vienna in 1814/1815 did it return to Prussian rule.
