The San José State University Campus Films Collection includes films documenting university history from as early as the 1960s, including campus news reports, commencement ceremonies, scholarly lectures, and new student counseling films. San José State's Instructional Television studio (ITV), under the direction of Robert Reynolds, created the majority of these films, which were later digitized under Reynolds's oversight. One exception is "Chicano Commencement," which was filmed by student organizer Jesse Hernandez. This collection will continue to grow as Special Collections & Archives continues to process files.
