Lake of the Nations Public
21271.jp2
Description
- Description
- FDR's support for the GGIE resulted in a striking Federal building fronting on the lake. There were exhibits from the usual agencies and those of the New Deal. A sharecroppers's shack was on display along with photos of new farm homes of the Rural Resettlement Administration. WPA artists painted the murals. The Elephant Train, in the foreground, was an easy way to see the Fair for 35 cents.
