1A-B. Elements of Geography (3-3)
(A) Elements of Geography. Survey of physical and cultural elements and their integration.
(B) Regional Geography of the Continents. Regional study of continents; relationship between natural and cultural landscapes.

3. Economic Geography (3)
World distribution of significant commodities, their uses in cultures; agricultural and mineral resource patterns; regionalization of deconomic activity; implications for contemporary society.

5. Meteorology (3)
Counts as physical science. Weather analysis; factors basic to weather forecasting and climatological studies.

41. North America (3)
Regional study of North America emphasizing responses of man to areal conditions of environment.

42. Latin America (3)
Geographic regions of Americas south of Rio Grande; relationships between natural and cultural patterns in a land of opportunity with an open door.

108. Climatology (Climate and Man) (3)
Areal distribution of factors of weather and climate which have given rise to development of regional types over the world in relation to their influence on man's activities. Prerequisite: Geography 5 or equivalent.

110. Field Geography (1-6)
Summer or week-end course. Practice in application of geographic field study methods. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the geographic landscapes. Study of relationships between the development of cultural features on the natural and physical background of regions. Climatic, soil, physiographic, agricultural, industrial and economic regions will be observed and compared over parts of the United States, Canada and Mexico.

115. Cartography (2)
Methods of graphically showing by three dimensional means surface and subsurface features of the earth. By the use of projections, graphs and other devices, representation of statistical and distributive data will be studied. Application to any field of study will be encouraged.

125. Geographic Background of American History (3)
Settlement and development of America as conditioned by natural environment. Emphasis on geography and physiography of the country as the stage upon which the drama of American history unfolded. Same as History 125.

126. Outlying Possessions (3)
Insular possessions in Gulf and Caribbean, Eastern Pacific, Western Pacific (South Sea Islands), and the groups of islands occupied by the army. A few islands from each region will be studied in detail.

127. Europe (3)
Geographic regions of Europe emphasizing the relation of human activities to physical factors areal in their distribution and influence.

128. Far East (3)
Regional summary of geographic conditions of countries bounding the western Pacific. Resources and physical conditions serving as a basis for understanding political problems that confront the world in this area.
