Recent and contemporary plays serve for practice in oral expression and

Idioms of modern French; translation of short narrations into French;

History of French literature, principal documents and authors from Chanson
de Roland to André Chenier. Renaissance, seventeenth and eighteenth

of epic poetry; analysis of metrical form; ancient mythology; selections
from Ovid; art of translation.
