Guidelines:
Through the generosity of Castle & Cooke, the 2007 Castle & Cooke
Creative Writing Awards are presented annually to honor the creative
work of students at the undergraduate and graduate levels at California
State University, Bakersfield and California State University, Bakersfield –
Antelope Valley Campus. Three awards will be presented:
● 1st Place - $250
● 2nd Place - $150
● 3rd Place - $100
Submission Guidelines

Application
must be filled out completely to be considered for an award.

Submissions
must have been written by a student who was an undergraduate or graduate
student at CSUB and CSUB-AV during the calendar year 2007.

Eligible
categories are fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and drama (for
radio, stage, or screen). (Poetry may be one poem or a sequence of
poems; fiction may be one story or a chapter of a longer work; drama
must be a minimum of one act).

Each
submission should be a minimum of 10 typed pages and a maximum of 25
typed pages in length and printed in a standard font (Times New Roman 12
point) on white paper.

Submissions
should include a completed application, plus three hard copies of the
work. Each of these three copies must have a unique title/titles, but
should contain no other identifying information such as author’s name,
instructor’s name or class written for.

Awards will be
presented at the Annual Sigma Tau Delta Induction and Awards Ceremony on
May 9, 2008.

There is no
limit to the number of submissions allowed.
