Counts as physical science. Weather analysis; factors basic to weather
forecasting and climatological studies.

Geographic regions of Americas south of Rio Grande; relationships between
natural and cultural patterns in a land of opportunity with an open door.
108. Climatology (3)
Counts as physical science. Prerequisite: Geog 6 or equivalent. The climates
of the earth and their significance to man.
110. Field Geography (1-6)
Summer or weekends. Practice in the use of field techniques applied to an
area.
115. Cartography (3)
Use of instruments for dtafting and lettering of maps; construction and
use of standard map projections; relief presentation and map reproduction;
cartographic source materials and literature; field trips.
125. Geographic Background of American History (3)
Settlement and development of America as conditioned by natural environment.
Emphasis on geography and physiography of the country as the stage upon
which the drama of American history unfolded. Same as History 125.
126. Outlying Possessions (3)
Insular possessions in Gulf and Caribbean, Eastern Pacific, Western
Pacific (South Sea Islands), and the groups of islands occupied by the army.
A few islands from each region will be studied in detail.

Geographic regions of Europe emphasizing the relation of human activities
to physical factors areal in their distribution and influence.

Regional summary of geographic conditions of countries bounding the
western Pacific. Resources and physical conditions serving as a basis for

Regional study of Anglo America; responses of man to areal conditions of
environment.
189. Geography of California (2)
Natural and cultural patterns of California; historical and regional geography
of the state.
