- Transcript of the oral history interview with Dr. Bettina Aptheker about her time as a SJSU graduate student and faculty member. Dr. Aptheker is an author, professor, and activist who currently teaches at UCSC. While at SJSU, Dr. Aptheker received her Master’s Degree in Speech Communications. She taught classes as a Lecturer in several different departments, covering areas of study that include Women and Revolution; Black Women’s History; and Sex and Power, among others. She is the author of several books, including the memoir Intimate Politics: How I Grew Up Red, Fought for Free Speech, and Became a Feminist Rebel.
