• Billed as 40 acres of fun, the Gayway was heavy on pseudo sin. Biggest attraction was Sally Rand's Nude ranch, "A Dude Ranch a la 1939." Sally wasn't there, but 20 girls wearing cowboy hats cavorted behind plate glass windows. While culture closed its doors at 10 pm, the Gayway stayed open until 2:00 am.
