Alumnus Loses Life in Terrorist Hijacking

SJSU Aviation Department alumnus, Captain Jason Dahl, was the pilot of the hijacked flight that crashed into a field in Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001. It was the only hijacked airplane that did not reach its intended target that day. After the hijackers killed Capt. Dahl and his co-pilot, and took control of the plane, the passengers charged the cockpit, and the hijackers crash-landed the plane to avoid losing it to the passengers.
