John Steinbeck, far left, dancing around a Maypole at Midsummer day Festival on Bo Beskow's farm in Skåne, Sweden, in June of 1957. Bo Beskow was a Swedish artist and writer. They met in New York in 1937 and continued their friendship for more than thirty years. Beskow painted three portraits of Steinbeck. See photos 0-834, 0-835, 0-836. Original in safe.
