John Steinbeck, wearing a beret, stands next to the Jaguar car he bought in England and had shipped to Spain. For this trip he had purchased a car horn that sounded like a bull "to give the cattle on the road some of their own medicine." For this trip they called themselves the "Joads in a Jag."
