Exeter Cathedral

The vaulting, springing from decorated corbels, follows the trend set by the tierceron vaults of Lincoln. Lincoln also served as a model for the arcading of the triforium, above which runs a double row of pierced quatrefoils. The unifying use of line and the strict adherence to consistency from one end of the building to the other give Exeter a feeling of architectural unity which is such a feature of the later English cathedrals.
