Raglan Castle
Raglan Castle, one of the last castles to be built, was reconstructed on earlier foundations similar to those of Nunney. It was in the possession of the Beaufort family, and was refuge of Charles I in 1645 during the Civil War. Built with ideas of chivalry against attack with primitive weapons, it was no match for fire arms. There are records of musket balls entering its unprotected windows in 1642 during Parliamentary attack.
