Conwy Castle

Practically the whole circuit of the wall built around the Borough of Conway still stands at its original height. It is protected by twenty towers and has three gates, each with a twin-towered gatehouse. Similar English boroughs featured in the conquest of Ireland, and even as far a field as Syria in the Holy Land.
