Lacock Abbey

In planning the rebuilding of Lacock Abbey, Sharington included and octagonal shaped tower with a turret stairway on a Late Tudor Gothic design. The lines are quite simple and with the exception of some of the bracketing, show little foreign influence. But within the tower are two tables which show a definite Italian spirit. It is certain that they are of the period, since Sharington's initials and crest are carved into the ornamentation.
