The Beethovens left Rotterdam for The Hague, only four miles away, and on November 23 Ludwig performed as a fortepiano soloist with the orchestra of Prince Willem V. von Oranien-Hassau conducted by Carl Stamitz. It is possible that he played a solo concert featuring one of his new piano sonatas, WoO 47, which had just appeared in print.
