Burial Chamber at Sarn

Burial chambers were covered with large worked stones of great size, as in this example which has lost its covering mound. The mound itself was carefully arranged with layers of stone, turf, and earth so as to shed penetrating water and keep the interior dry. The capstone itself was also made and placed to shed water.
