Steinbeck House postcard.

Postcard for the Steinbeck House Restaurant. Built in 1897 in the Queen Anne-style and purchased by the Steinbecks in 1900. Steinbeck was born in the bedroom to the left of the entrance. The text on the back of the postcard reads "The Steinbeck House. 132 Central Avenue - Salinas, Calif. 93901. Birthplace and boyhood home of American author John Steinbeck. 1940 Pulitzer Prize winner and 1962 Nobel Prize recipient. Valley Guild, a non-profit corporation, now owns and amintains the Steinbeck House as a volunteer restaurant and gift shop whose proceeds go to Salinas Valley charities."
