Apartment on 72nd Street

190 East 72nd Street, New York, N.Y. John Steinbeck purchased an apartment on the 34th floor of this building in 03-1963, because climbing the four flights of stairs at his previous home had become too much and because of security concerns. He died in this apartment. Elaine continued to live in this apartment until she died.
