Viroconium

Seen here is a part of a commemorative inscription from Viroconium, which also indicates the high standards of craftsmanship and graphics attained in Roman Britain. The emperor Hadrian, whose name appears in the inscription, visited Britain in 122 C.E. and ordered the building of military defenses, including Hadrain's Wall.
