Cal Poly Band, 1945

The Cal Poly band, under the direction of Harold P. "Davey" Davidson, performs for graduation, 1945. Davidson, who arrived at Cal Poly in 1936, was a beloved campus figure. He doubled the size of the marching band, rejuvenated the Glee Club, and started a swing band called the Collegians. The Glee Club and the Collegians became very popular, performing both on and off campus.
