Women's Division fundraising methods
This document describes a successful fundraising method used by the Women's Division in northern districts: the "Silent Auction." The event is held in a large home as either a cocktail or dinner party. A committee organizes donated food and interesting "art objects," sells tickets ranging from $5 to $25, and displays auction items with bid sheets and minimum bids. Guests place bids by signing their names next to their offered price during the event. Bidding closes at a set time (usually after dinner), and the highest bidders purchase the items. Funds are raised both from ticket sales and the auction itself. In northern districts, proceeds are split evenly: half goes to the Women's Division office and half remains in the district for use according to party rules. The southern districts plan to adopt the same approach.
