Emma Bormann was a very well known Austrian female artist born in 1887 in Vienna. She was a pupil of Ludwig Michalek, and continued her education at Munich School of Applied Arts in 1917-1921. From 1926 on, she was an art teacher at the Vienna University. Bormann made many trips to almost all European countries and the USA. In 1941-50 lived in China, then in Hong Kong and Japan, and finally settled down in the USA, where she died in 1974.
