SaintMary's Redcliffe
The ratio of window to wall in early Perpendicular building is illustrated by this south side of St. Mary's Redcliffe. The thrust of roof vaulting is taken to the ground through slender flying buttresses similar to those developed in Early English structures, but the wall consists of panel and rib construction, inside and out, giving a much reduced weight while retaining strength.
