Park Crescent
One of the last great characters of the English Renaissance was John Nash (1752-1835). His rise to a position of importance was surrounded by intrigue, yet his ability is unquestionable. This was part of the grand scheme which was possible, when in 1811, the Crown Lands to the north of London became available for building. John Nash, speculator and architect, proposed, and finally carried out, a tremendous scheme, which included Regent's Park, Regent Street, and the reconstruction of the west end of the Strand. Park Crescent seen here, was one of the earliest parts of the plan to be completed.
