Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarship Symposium Program 1987

Program for the 3rd Annual Dr. Ernesto Galarza Symposium, held at San Jose State University on Tuesday, April 28, 1987 at 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. This event included Literary Displays of Dr. Galarza's Works, Introduction of President Fullerton by Jose D. Colchado (Vice President, Hispanic Faculty and Staff Association and Associate Dean, School of Humanities and Arts), Welcome by President Gail Fullerton (President, SJSU), Introduction of Keynote Speaker by Dr. Alexander Sapiens (Professor, Bilingual Education), Keynote by Dr. Carlos E. Cortes (Professor of History, UC Riverside), and Presentation of Awards. Four awards were presented: Annual Galarza Special Award (Presented by Dr. Alexander Sapiens), Annual Kiwanis Galarza Scholarship (Presented by Mr. Tony Sanchez, President, Pueblo de San José Kiwanis), Annual Mexican American Community Services Association (MACSA) Scholarship (Presented by Ms. Esther Medina), and Hispanic Faculty and Staff Association Scholarship (Presented by Dr. Jose D. Colchado.
