Bath Abbey

The whole of the interior is roofed with fan vaulting, of which that over the choir, transepts and aisles is original. The design was faithfully copied by Sir Gilbert Scott when the nave was vaulted during restorations from 1864-1871. The vaulting is unusual for its lack of transverse arches dividing bays, a feature which gives great unity to the design.
