Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarship Symposium Program 2009

Program for the 24th Annual Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarship Symposium, held at San Jose State University on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library Cultural Heritage Center. The event included a Registration/Reception, Welcome/Opening Remarks by Dr. Julia Curry (President, CLFSA), Presentation of Scholarships by Dr. Carlos Garcia (Chair, Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarship Committee), Keynote Address by Frank Ortega (Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholar), and Closing Remarks by Dr. Julia Curry and Dr. Carlos Garcia. Seven awards were presented: Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarship, National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies Scholarship, Chicano/Latino Faculty and Staff Scholarship, Galarza Institute/CLFSA Transfer Scholarship (3 awards), and Marisol Perez Memorial Scholarship.
