Teenage girls check paper aircraft

Photograph shows three teenage girls reaching up to check aircraft cutouts mounted along strings which will mark the progress their teams will make in the National YWCA Week membership drive. Another teenage girl looks on. The drive was held April 18-25, 1954. From left to right: Pearline, Kennedy, Marlene Salma, Vera Austin, and Marlene Tomasella. See San Jose Evening News, April 17, 1954. The planes are labeled Staff Board No.2, Y-Teen, Staff Board No.1; Ladies Day Out. The sign in the glass in the upper right corner reads: This room is reserved for residents and their guests.
