Tre'r Ceiri
The life of Celtic Tribes continued well into the period of Roman occupation. It seems as if there was no interference with native life, and that apart from the maintenance of peace and the collection of taxes, the earlier Iron Age cultures continued. This example of a walled hilltop village is one of a group of such settlements in North Wales, which were occupied until the second century C.E.; it contains the remains of a number of round dry stone huts within built-up acropolis.
