  • The Peregrinación documents through photos the historic five-year strike by Latino and Filipino vineyard workers and the 350-mile peregrinación, or pilgrimage, from Delano to Sacramento that thrust La Causa, the cause, of striking farm workers, squarely before the nation's conscience. -- Seeds of Change": Interdisciplinary Panel on Sustainable Agriculture - A diverse panel of experts will explore the status and future of ecologically sound and sustainable agriculture methods. Panelists will include a family farmer, a CSUCI professor, a farm worker, and a nutrition advocate. Panelists will take an interdisciplinary examination on the right to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods. They will address topics such as family farming, organic farming, food security, food co-ops, farmer markers, "food justice" and "food "sovereignty" movement and alternative methods at creating self-sustaining and socially just food systems.
