Salisbury Cathedral

There is an echo of French cathedral building in the gabled entrance at the west end, but perhaps it is because the builders had had enough experience with the west wind at the old site to dispense with any added protection here. Although there are 120 niches for sculpture, very little of the original statuary remains.
