Letter from James M. Parker
A letter from James M. Parker of Thousand Oaks is addressed to a fellow Democrat and member of the California Democratic Council (CDC). In advance of an upcoming Assembly District Council meeting, Parker urges members to reflect on two fundamental political principles:1. Political strength depends on the ability to deliver votes and elect candidates. He argues that for the CDC to be politically effective, it must demonstrate its ability to win elections.2. Promises must be kept. Since the CDC has endorsed and promised to support a candidate for public office, it has an ethical and strategic obligation to honor that commitment.
