Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarship Symposium Program 1990

Program for the 6th Annual Dr. Ernesto Galarza Symposium, held at San Jose State University on Thursday, April 5, 1990 at 5:30 PM. The Master of Ceremonies was Pete Michel (Associate Director, EOP, SJSU). This event includes a Reception for Faustina Solis (Professor Emeritus), Welcome by Dr. Ismael Dieppa (Dean, School of Social Work), Introduction of Keynote Speaker by Dr. Héctor Garcia (Professor, School of Social Work and Symposium Chair), Keynote by Faustina Solis (Professor Emeritus, UC San Diego), Presentation of Scholarships by Dr. Consuelo Rodriguez (Associate Dean, Educational Endowment Chair, Galarza Endowment Fund), and Closing Comment by Dr. Héctor Garcia. Six awards were presented: Kiwanis Galarza Scholarship, Mexican American Community Services Association (MACSA) Scholarship, Association of Chicano/Latino Nurses Scholarship, Hispanic Faculty and Staff Scholarship, Th Observador Scholarship, and Jorge Cuadros Scholarship.
