Exhibit I: Major Steps in California State Budget Process
This document was prepared by the Legislative Auditor in November 20, 1952 which shows a diagram process of the major steps in California state budget process. The first step of the California state budget process begins with budget request in which agencies submit to the department of Finance as a proposal of estimated revenues, it then goes to the division of budgets and accounts, Department of Finance, which conducts agency hearings. There are 14 steps which a budget request goes through.
