SaintMary's Redcliffe

The development of vaulting, particularly in the west of England, had reached similar structural solution to that of timber roofing, but in stone. St. Mary Redcliffe, whose building was interrupted by the plague, also follows the emphasis on verticals which first appeared at Gloucester Cathedral choir. Window tracery extends downward, forming panels of the walls, and the emphasis is perpendicular.
