Steinbeck at Midsummer day Festival in Skåne, Sweden

John Steinbeck, on the right, dancing around a Maypole at Midsummer Day Festival in Skåne, Sweden in June of 1957 on Bo Beskow's farm. Bo Beskow was a Swedish artist and writer. Steinbeck and Beskow met at in New York in 1937 and continued their friendship for more than thirty years. Beskow painted three portraits of Steinbeck. See photos 0-834, 0-835, 0-836.
