Bath Abbey
The great bath, one of a series of baths forming the Thermae, was a central building of Roman architecture. The Thermae were not only designed for bathing, but were centers for news, clubs, and public meetings. Here at Bath, in Southwest England, advantage was taken of the local hot springs to set up a major establishment, which is still in use today.
