Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarship Symposium Program 1989

Program for the 4th Annual Dr. Ernesto Galarza Symposium, held at San Jose State University on Thursday, April 6, 1989 at 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM. The Master of Ceremonies was José Villa (Professor, School of Social Work and President, Hispanic Faculty and Staff Association). This event included a Reception for Dr. María Eugenia Matute-Bianchi (Associate Professor of Education, UC Santa Cruz), Welcome by Dr. Arlene Okerlund (Academic Vice President, SJSU), Introduction of Keynote Speaker by Dr. Alexander Sapiens (Associate Professor, School of Education and Symposium Chairperson), Keynote by Dr. María Eugenia Matute-Bianchi, Presentation of Scholarships by Dr. Consuelo Rodriguez (Associate Dean, Educational Equity Chair, Galarza Endowment Fund), and Closing Comments by José Villa. Three awards were presented: Kiwanis Galarza Scholarship, Mexican American Community Services Association (MACSA) Scholarship, and Southwest Medical Group Scholarship.
