California Association of State Hospital Trustees Letter
This document in which the California Association of State Hospital Trustees have expressed genuine concern about the current freeze on hiring to replace the normal turnover of employees of the state hospitals. The association is concerned about the care and consideration of the patients in the state hospitals who cannot speak for themselves and due to this the association will be assembling a meeting at el Dorado Hotel in Sacramento. The meeting will occur on February 10, 1967 to resolve the following issues: (1) Urging the administration to lift the 'freeze' on hiring personnel, (2) determining the budget needs of the Department of mental Hygiene the proper care and treatment of the patients for which the state of california is responsible be given consideration over immediate financial savings, (3) resolution to be furnished to the director of the department of mental hygiene and the legislator of the state of California.
