Studio portrait photograph of Barbara Auguste Grimm, daughter of Wilhelm Grimm (of fairy-tale fame), mounted on card with imprint of Carl Günther in Berlin and address "Behren-Str. 24" printed on both sides. Signed in ink: "To dear Mrs. Fox from her friend A. Grimm." Mrs. Fox (A. W. Thayer's niece) wrote in pencil on verso: "Dear Miss Grimm was a life long love of my uncle's. It is said in Berlin that she refused Brahms, and never loved any one but my old uncle."
