Engraving
A Symphony
Copper engraving by Julius Ernst of the painting "Eine Symphonie" by Moritz von Schwind from 1852, which was inspired by Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, op. 80. The painting consisted of four illustrations. The lower part of the painting depicts a performance of the Choral Fantasy, with Maximiliane Brentano at the piano, with Schwind as the page turner. Also pictured are Franz Grillparzer, Michael Vogl, Josef von Spaun, and Franz Schubert.
