Record Transcript of Board of Trustees Meeting, Camarillo State Hospital

The meeting resulted in discussion about a patient's admission and how a new procedure for both men and women will be admitted through one reception, in which new accomplished treatment program will be established. These new procedures will consist of photographed, examined, x-rayed, laboratory test run and classifies as to type of treatment to be started. By doing it will allow for an increase in capacity of existing medical and surgical sections by the transfer of patients to other wards and units from the present recivieng wards. But, Dr. Garrett expressed his concerns in regards to the "flexibility program" because the Camarillo Mental State Hospital did not count with the budget or personnel to even start this program. He expressed that how did the Department of Mental Hygiene think that they can even afford such program if they have not even first increased pay wage, hired staff, and do not give any sort of budget to cover hospital expenses. Camarillo Mental State Hospital is understaffed and has roughly less than 200 employees and in order to open this program in this unit they at least needed about 600 employees.
