Exhibited: The Beethovens on the Rhine (2020). Exhibition text: The works performed at this concert are unknown, but since the receipt includes several other musicians who were paid somewhat less, it is speculated that Beethoven performed a concerto with a small orchestra, perhaps even his own Concerto in E-flat Major, WoO 4. Beethoven was apparently disappointed about his financial gains for these events; according to Fischer, he later complained that the Dutch were skinflints (Pfennigfuchser) and that he would never visit Holland again.
