Sponsored by the Chicano/Latino Faculty and Staff Association (CLFSA) of San José State University, the Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarship Symposium (1985-present) is an annual event that celebrates the legacy of Dr. Galarza, as well as recognizes the academic achievements of SJSU students. Scholarships are awarded to support graduate, continuing SJSU undergraduate, and incoming transfer students in their academic pursuits by addressing the barriers that students face in pursuing higher education.
