Jackson J. Benson, Biographer

Jackson Benson wrote "The True Adventures of John Steinbeck, Writer" which is considered the most comprehensive Steinbeck biography. Benson was a writer of novellas and short stories, literary criticism and history. He wrote biographies of Steinbeck, Ernest Hemmingway and Wallace Stegner. He was a Professor of American literature, 1966-97 at San Diego State University, California.
