The Long Valley Dust Jacket

The Long Valley cover for the World Publishing Company, Tower Books edition, first printing 1945. The Long Valley was first published in 1938 with the same dust cover by Hader. Elmer Hader and his wife Berta Hader were an American couple who jointly illustrated more than 70 children's books. Wording under the author's name on the cover changed for other Steinbeck titles. This cover says Grapes of Wrath, other covers include Of Mice and Men and The Red Pony.
